DOT Design Technologies was founded to design and develop interesting and useful products that are missing from the marketplace today.

We feel that technology should be doing a lot more to fit into people's lives (especially in a family setting). We feel that by combining several useful technologies into one well designed and usable product, people can start to really reap the advances of technologies that would otherwise be impossible, or at the very least difficult.

We feel that now is the time when technology, and the price of that technology, has reached a point where products that were previously only dreamed of can start to make their impact on how people (especially families and other social groups) interact with the technological world around them.

We feel that products should be simple, open, and extensible. We want communities of people developing new uses for our products through constant experimentation.

Our goal is create those solutions that are built on an evolutionary framework, but when taken as a whole are truly revolutionary.

Our newest product, the Xtend wireless next generation information appliance is one example where we took several ideas and technologies that have been floating around for a while, but have never come together in just the right way before to create a truly useful and affordable personal information appliance. It's open design will allow it to grow to meet the needs of users that we never would have thought of. The future of truly personal mobile computing is just beginning!

We've recently discovered a really nifty application called Color Wheel Pro - a program that allows you to create color schemes and preview them on real examples. It's worth checking out for those times when you need a nudge in the right direction when choosing a color pallet.
